In the summer of 1997 I was working for a company which was forced to downsize and was caught in a large lay off and was released from my management position in the printing field. After working 30 years in the printing trade (that was progressing much like most other jobs), shrinking pay scales, longer hours, and little or no job security, I decided to search for a new way to earn a living.
The first couple of years were spent learning such crafts as designing & building websites, developing the art of SEO to get the necessary traffic to be successful and creating a system to profitably market affiliate products. While this was all OK and I was making a living selling these products, I really wanted my own business, where I could control the prices, offer special product packages, market to brick and mortar businesses in my local area. The affiliate products I was selling just didn't offer these marketing advantages.
I spent the next several months researching and locating distributions centers where we could actually purchase quality products at a price which offered the ability to sell at wholesale prices to brick and mortar stores as well as offer a profitable home business opportunity for others who wanted out of the rat race just like us.
After trying a seemingly endless list of centers with dismal failures we finally discovered the distribution center we are now using. Constantly improving quality products, prices which allow us to offer them at very competitive prices, and a sound delivery system.
In the Spring of 1999 The Ellis Marketing Group officially began business and I am pleased to say, with the help of our many wholesale customers has seen continual grow and success with a constantly growing staff which I am pleased to say is all family.
